Abstract
Poznato je kako je industrijskom revolucijom započeo proces globalizacije, a razvoj tehnologije ga je unaprijedio. S obzirom da je svijet danas „globalno selo“ i da je međusobno sve povezano te da je razmjena dobara i usluga gotovo neograničena, poduzeća nastoje svoja poslovanja tome i prilagoditi. Rezultat toga je međunarodno poslovanje, a primjeri poduzeća koja danas posluju na globalnoj razini su nebrojeni. Kako bi ostvarili poziciju uspješnih, poduzeća na inozemnim tržištima moraju biti upoznata s međunarodnom okolinom uzimajući u obzir sve njezine dimenzije, s kulturom stanovništva zemlje poslovnice, zaposlenika i poslovnih partnera, njihovim etičkim načelima i normama. Prema tome odabiru strategiju izlaska na novo tržište, stil poslovanja i vođenja i eliminiraju potencijalne rizike uzrokovane kulturalnim razlikama. Četiri modela: Hofstedeov, Kluckohn-Strodtbeckov, Trompenaarsov i GLOBE-ov model klasificiraju razne zemlje svijeta prema njihovim kulturalnim obilježjima i specifičnostima i time ukazuju menadžerima na stvaranje neke općenite slike i predodžbe o određenim regijama.
Abstract (english)
It is well known that the industrial revolution started the process of globalization, and technology development has improved it. Given that the world today is a “global village” and that everything is mutually connected and the exchange of goods and services is almost unlimited, the companies strive to adapt its business to that. The result is international business and examples of companies that operate today on global level are countless. In order to achieve the position of successful companies in foreign market, they must be familiar with the international environment considering all of its dimensions, with the country’s population culture, employees and business partners, their ethical principles and norms. According to that they choose strategy of entering the new market, business style and management and eliminate the potential risks caused by cultural difference. Four models: Hofstede, Kluckohn-Strodtbeck, Trompenaars and GLOBE model classify different countries of the world based on their cultural characteristics and specifics, thus pointing to managers to create some general pictures and ideas about certain regions.
