Plant of the company Western Electric, called Hawthorne Works, in the period from 1924 to 1934, has been a lot of surveys that should show how working conditions affecting on worker productivity. The research was led by Australian psychologist Elton Mayo. Surveys carried out in the mentioned period are: • Illumination Experiment • Relay Assembly Test Room Experiments • Mass Interviewing Programme • Bank Wiring Observation Room Experiments This series of studies there have give significant discoveries that will greatly contribute to the development of human resources management in the future, and some of the main are that the group is a main factor of performance, increased attention and the importance of the work will affect the final output and the workplace culture raises production standards. Also, the term Hawthorne Work as we know was implemented. So, this is a form of reactivity, and describes a temporary change to behavior or performance in response to a change in the environmental conditions, with the response being typically an improvement. Definition is devised by Henry A. Landsberger in 1950. It should be noted that the Hawthorne effect and Hawhtorne research are part of the behavioral school of management which began to develop around in 1930. This research has initiated a lot of debate and discussion about whether the study received a real impact, and are the reached conclusions valid. Despite these criticisms, the fact is that the Hawthorne effect has greatly changed the understanding of the human resources in the company.
