Abstract
Savršena konkurencija i monopol su tržišne strukture koje su po svojim obilježjima tržišne suprotnosti. Savršenu konkurenciju karakterizira homogenost, velik broj prodavatelja, ali je njezino obilježje i to da je ona tek teoretski model. Ne postoje prepreke ulasku niti izlasku iz grane, ali zbog te činjenice poduzeća nemaju mogućnosti utjecati na cijene proizvoda. Također, zbog činjenice da su proizvodi homogeni, odnosno savršeni supstituti, cjenovna elastičnost je beskonačna, dok je krivulja potražnje savršeno elastična. Za razliku od tržišne strukture savršene konkurencije, monopol predstavlja granu tržišta u kojem vlada zakon jednoga, odnosno u toj tržišnoj strukturi postoji samo jedan prodavatelj koji ima velik utjecaj na cijenu proizvoda, a kupci su prisiljeni kupovati po toj cijeni. Prema navedenome, monopol pripada tržištu nesavršene konkurencije, a dijeli se na prirodni monopol, zakonski monopol, ekonomski monopol te oktopodski monopol.
Abstract (english)
Perfect competition and monopoly are market structures which are, because of their characteristics, market opposites. Perfect competition is characterised by her homogeneity, a large number of sellers, but perfect competition is also known as a theoretical model in economy. There are no barriers to entry or exit from the market structure, but for that reason the enterprises can´t affect on the product price. Therefore, and for the fact that the products are homogeneous or perfect substitutes, the price elasticity is infinite, and the demand curve is perfectly elastic. Unlike the perfect competition, the monopoly represents a market sector in which there is „the law of one“ – in this market structure is only one seller who has big influence on the market, the product prices, and the buyers are forced to buy by that price. According to the above, monopoly belongs to the imperfect market structure and it is divided on: natural monopoly, legal monopoly, economic monopoly and octopod monopoly.
