Abstract
Nakon sloma socijalističkih režima krajem osamdesetih godina prošloga stoljeća bivše komunističke zemlje našle su se pred izazovima ostvarivanja modernog liberalno demokratskog društva. Prijelaz iz samoupravnog socijalizma u novi društveno-ekonomski poredak dogodio se izrazito brzo, no bile su potrebne korjenite institucionalno- političke promjene za uspješnost tog procesa. U ovom radu analizirani su ekonomski, socijalni i politički rezultati tranzicije te objašnjeni procesi formiranja tržišnih ekonomija u zemljama srednje i istočne Europe, uključujući i Republiku Hrvatsku.
Abstract (english)
After the collapse of socialist regimes in the late eighties of the past century, former communist countries found themselves facing the challenges of modern and liberal accomplishment of democratic society. Transition from self- governing socialism to the new socio-economic order occurred rapidly, but fundamental institutional-political changes were necessary for a successful achievement of this process. In this paper, economic, social and political outcomes of transition are analyzed and it explains the processes of forming market economies in Central and Eastern Europe, including the Republic of Croatia.
