Abstract
Ruralni razvoj predstavlja razvoj ruralnih područja,odnosno integralni i višesektorski te održivi razvoj ruralnog (negradskog) prostora. Ruralna područja karakteriziraju se kao područja s gustoćom naseljenosti ispod 150 stanovnika na jedan kilometar kvadratni. Prema tome kriteriju veći dio teritorija Republike Hrvatske može se definirati kao ruralno područje, te na tome teritoriju živi veći postotak stanovništva. Kako se ruralna područja sve češće suočavaju sa depopulacijom, nižim životnim standardom te se na neki način zanemaruju, izrazito je važno pridavati više pozornostima načinima i mogućnostima ruralnog razvoja. Ruralni razvoj može se potaknuti kroz poticanje općina, županija te stanovništva na korištenje sredstva EU fondova, učinkovitije državne programe ruralnog razvoja, bolju informiranost i edukaciju stanovništva. Kao ključan čimbenik koji bi uvelike pridonio razvoju takvih područja je turizam. Vidljivo je u kojoj mjeri primorski turizam utječe na gospodarstvo, zašto ne bi isto bilo i s kontinetalnim u kojem leži velik neiskorišten potencijal ? Postoje dobri primjeri iz prakse, no još je uvijek njihov broj vrlo mali. Činjenica kako su druge razvijenije države poput Austrije i primjerice Švicarske prepoznale i iskoristile potencijal ruralnih područja dovoljno govori o njihovoj važnosti.
Abstract (english)
Rural development represents the development of rural areas, the integral and multi-sectoral and sustainable development of rural space. Rural areas are characterized as areas with population density below 150 inhabitants per square kilometer. Therefore, the criterion is that a large part of the territory of the Republic of Croatia can be defined as a rural area, and that territory has a higher percentage of the population. As rural areas are increasingly faced with depopulation, lower living standards and somehow neglected, it is extremely important to pay more attention to the ways and possibilities of rural development. Rural development can be stimulated by encouraging municipalities, counties, and the use of EU funds, more effective rural development programs, better informing and educating the population. As a key factor that would greatly contribute to the development of such areas is tourism. It is visible to what extent coastal tourism affects the economy, why not the continental one, where there is a huge untapped potential? There are good examples from practice, but still their number is very small. The fact that other developed states such as Austria and, for example, Switzerland have recognized and exploited the potential of rural areas, are sufficiently aware of their importance.
