Abstract
Na tržištu dobara djeluju četiri različite tržišne strukture, a to su savršena konkurencija, monopolistička konkurenciju, oligopol i monopol. U ovom završnom radu usmjeriti će se na monopol. Monopol predstavlja postojanje velikog broja kupaca i jednog proizvođača. Sukladno tome, monopol sam određuje cijene svojih proizvoda ili usluga, pa su samim time i cijene tih proizvoda i usluga izuzetno visoke. Ulazak u industrijsku granu gdje postoji monopol je vrlo težak, gotovo i nemoguć jer monopolist nastoji različitim zaprekama onemogućiti ulazak u tu industrijsku granu. Monopolisti ostvaruju monopolski profit i normalni profit. Maksimalizacija profita dogoditi će se ako su granični prihodi jednaki graničnim troškovima. Monopol može ostvariti i gubitak ako padne potražnja za njegovim proizvodom ili uslugom te zbog toga monopolisti imaju cilj osim maksimalizacije profita i minimalizaciju gubitka monopola. Za razliku od savršene konkurencije, kod monopola cijena je veća, dok je monopolski output manji nego kod konkurencije i monopolska cijena je veća od graničnog troška, te je cijena savršenog konkurenta jednaka graničnom trošku. Monopolisti se na tržištu dobar nazivaju „price makeri“, dok se savršena konkurencija na tržištu dobara naziva „price takeri“.
Abstract (english)
There are four market structures, in the market of goods and services, such as perfect competition, oligopoly, monopolistic competition and monopoly. This final paper focuses on the monopoly. The monopoly represents the existence of a large number of customers and a single producer. Consequently, the monopoly itself determines the prices of its products or services, and hence the prices of these products and services are extremely high. Entering the industrial branch where there is a monopoly is very difficult, almost impossible, because the monopoly seeks on different barriers to prevent entry into that industry. Monopolists can realize normal and monopoly profits. They will try to maximize profit if borderline revenues are equal to marginal costs. But the downside of demand monopoly can also be a loss and one of the goals beyond maximizing profits is to minimize the loss of monopoly. Compared to the perfect competition, the price on the monopoly market is higher, the monopoly output is lower than the competition and the monopoly price is higher than the marginal cost, while the price of the perfect competitor equals the marginal cost. In the monopolistic market we call the "price makers", the perfect "price taker" competition.
