Abstract
Skup određenih podataka koji zajednički tvore smislenu cjelinu i prenose određenu poruku ili imaju određeni značaj za korisnika istog, zovemo informacijom. Informacije su temelj čovjekova djelovanja i predstavljaju ogromni značaj u poslovnom životu. U moru informacija, njihov tražitelj, odnosno poduzeće, mora pronaći način kako doći do relevantnih i potrebnih informacija, uskladištiti ih u bazu podataka, obraditi ih i iskoristiti na način koji će njemu i njegovom poslovanju donijeti uspjeh i stvaranje prednosti u usporedbi s konkurencijom. Ove aktivnosti pospješuje i olakšava kreiranje i korištenje poslovnih informacijskih sustava koji imaju za svrhu prikupiti, obraditi i dati tražene podatke s ciljem napretka poslovanja.
Abstract (english)
A set of specific data that when jointed make a meaningful unity and transfer a specific message or have a specific meaning for its user, is called information. Information are the base of all human actions and represent huge influence in the business life itself. In a sea of information, their seeker aka the company itself has to find appropriate way to get the relevant and needed information, how to store them into a database, process them and use them in a way that will bring the company and the companies business a success and a leverage towards the competition. These activities are enhanced and relieved by the creation and usage of business information systems whose purpose is to collect, to process and to give the needed data with purpose of one cause, that is to enhance business.
