Globalization means a process in economics, politics and culture that enables faster development of technology and flow of information. Agriculture is actually a system that produces food for humans and animals, and other substances for plant and animal breeding. This graduate paper speaks about the main characteristics of the meaning and the emergence of globalization and the effects of globalization on the development of the entire economy, regarding the impact on agriculture in the Republic of Croatia. Globalization has its positive and negative effects that are explained in this graduate paper. The development of technology and information is in fact the main actuator of the globalization process and it has just contributed to the development of the economy in the direction of change and all other global circumstances. By developing these technologies, the world has turned into a unified system in a way that communication between two entities in any part of the world can be accomplished in a matter of minutes that makes everyday life easier. The purpose of the research is to determine to what extent globalization has affected agriculture in the Republic of Croatia, as well as to compare the development of agricultural activity with the EU. One of the targets and key challenges of this graduate paper is to investigate how the company from the Republic of Croatia who indirectly deals in agricultural activity has adapted to the challenges of globalization and whether it has contributed to increasing competitiveness and facilitating global business.
