One of the ways a business can enter a foreign market is to invest directly which means to control and manage business objects and operations in one country by a business that is originally headquartered outside of said country, having a direct impact on business results. Foreign direct investments have a big impact in economy of a country that is being invested into and play an important role in economy of a world today. First part of the graduate paper is based on theoretical data that is needed for better understanding of foreign direct investments with special attention to differences between investor and recipient and other unique factors that can affect foreign direct investments processes. Furthermore, second part od the graduate paper is comprised of markets of leading world economies where processes of foreign direct investments are carried out on a much larger scale in a much more competitive conditions, an environment that shows best the specific advantages and disadvantages. Analysis of various markets showed their corresponding unique traits that are than compared to give a better understanding of foreign direct investments and their importance for each of the countries and world economy in general. 6 markets were analyzed in total in different parts of the world and reviewed with important characteristics and with possible upgrades with regards to assumed future trends.
