Graduate thesis Last mile delivery in online retailing, using a theoretical and empirical basis, tests the hypothesis of the extent to which online shoppers are aware of the impact of parcel delivery on environmental pollution and whether they are willing to participate in reducing the harmful effects of this mode of transport, as well as whether they will the greater population density of urban centers and increasingly stringent environmental standards, the process of batch delivery or transport will retain its existing shape or under these influences will change its overall shape. In the theoretical part, the basic elements of online commerce are explained - the differences that separate this from traditional forms of commerce, the history and emergence of the term, the differences between B2B and B2C areas of online commerce. The trends of online retailing as well as the profile of customers using this form of shopping are also explained. The paper recognizes the benefits, as well as some of the difficulties that the development of online retailing has on the overall delivery process and its final (last mile) stage. Also, the survey on satisfaction and habits of Croatian online customers and the business of packaged distribution companies in the Republic of Croatia was analyzed. The survey also finds out how well respondents are aware of the concept of last mile delivery and what their views are about environmental protection.
