Abstract
U ovom radu analizirano je upravljanje odabranim centralnim bankama i mjere monetarne politike u svrhu održavanja stabilnosti cijena te održavanja likvidnosti tijekom krize izazvane pandemijom novog koronavirusa. Promatra se odgovor centralnih banaka tijekom prvog tromjesečja nakon proglašenja pandemije i to Europske središnje banke i Sustava federalnih rezervi, kao i Hrvatske narodne banke. Promatrane središnje banke pravodobno su uvele izvanredne monetarne mjere, kako one klasične, tako i one nestandardne. Usprkos tome, mjere se ne mogu ocijeniti potpuno uspješnima jer glavni cilj monetarne politike – stabilnost cijena uz punu zaposlenost – nije postignut. U radu su istražene mjere i njihovi opseg te je učinjena komparativna analiza poduzetih mjera triju promatranih banaka.
Abstract (english)
This paper examines the management of selected central banks and monetary policy measures in order to maintain price stability and liquidity during the crisis caused by the new coronavirus pandemic. The response of central banks during the first quarter after the declaration of the pandemic is being observed, namely by the European Central Bank and the Federal Reserve System, as well as the Croatian National Bank. The observed central banks introduced extraordinary monetary measures in a timely manner, both classical and non-standard ones. Nevertheless, the measures cannot be considered completely successful because the main goal of monetary policy - price stability with full employment - has not been achieved. The paper analyzes the measures and their scope, and makes a comparative analysis of the measures taken by the three observed banks.
