Abstract
Postoji jaka veza između globalizacije i sporta, posebice u vrijeme informacijsko-tehnološke revolucije i digitalizacije. Od Olimpijskih igara pa sve do velikih sportskih događaja, globalizacija je učinila sport velikom industrijom te je potaknula veliki interes za praćenjem i organiziranjem sportskih događaja na globalnoj razini. Globalizacija mijenja i sam sport na način da utječe na pravila igre, na način treniranja i praćenja rezultata pa i do samih tehničkih izvedbi na terenu. Svrha je ovog rada istražiti utjecaj globalizacije na sport. Taj utjecaj je višestruk, a dotiče pitanja ekonomije, marketinga, organizacije, politike, kulture i ostaloga. U ovom radu izdvojili smo dva primjera globalizacije sporta. Prvi je širenje (sportske) kulture putem sporta što je prikazano na slučaju američkog nogometa i njegove sve veće popularnosti u Europi. Drugi primjer se tiče utjecaja globalizacije na povećanje zarada i vrijednosti sportaša i najvećih sportskih klubova.
Abstract (english)
There is a strong link between globalization and sport, especially at a time of information technology revolution and digitalization. From the Olympic Games to major sporting events, globalization has made sport a major industry and has fueled great interest in monitoring and organizing sporting events globally. Globalization is changing the sport itself in a way that affects the rules of the game, the way of training and monitoring the results and even the technical performances on the field. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the impact of globalization on sport. This impact is multiple, and touches on issues of economics, marketing, organization, politics, culture and more. In this paper, we have singled out two examples of the globalization of sport. The first is the spread of (sports) culture through sports, which is shown using the case of American football and its growing popularity in Europe. Another example concerns the impact of globalization on increasing the earnings and value of athletes and major sports clubs.
