Abstract
Kultura je moćna sila koja se razvija kroz povijest, a oblikuje način viđenja svijeta. Razlikuje se od zemlje do zemlje, a upravo te razlike temelj su za razvoj sukoba u interkulturalnom kontaktu. Interkulturalna komunikacija datira još od vremena kada su ljudi tvorili plemenske skupine, a interkulturalni kontakt događao se u trenutku razmijene informacija pripadnika različitih plemena. Razvoj kulturne inteligencije i interkulturne kompetencije olakšat će komunikaciju između dvoje ljudi... More koji pripadaju različitim kulturama. Iako mnogi ljudi komunikaciju temelje na verbalnom izražaju više od 50% poruka prenosi se putem neverbalne komunikacije. S jedne strane ekspresija uključuje verbalne simbole ili njihove zamjene s ciljem ostvarivanja prijenosa informacija dok s druge strane impresiju čini mnoštvo radnji koje se mogu smatrati simptomatičnim za komunikatora s obzirom da je radnja izvedena iz drugih razloga. Govor tijela predstavlja najveći dio neverbalnog komuniciranja i iz tog razloga ta se dva pojma najčešće uzimaju kao sinonimi. Osim govora tijela ona uključuje: izraz lica, pogled u oči i netremičan pogled, dodir, parajezik, prostor i udaljenost, vrijeme i šutnju. Ako su verbalne i neverbalne kontradiktorne ljudi obično vjeruju govoru tijela prije nego onome što pojedinac govori. Shodno tome, komunikacija je usko povezana s kulturom pa će tako isti simbol biti drugačije interpretiran u drugoj zemlji. Primjerice, ukoliko se u Hrvatskoj pokaže simbol „O“ konobaru tako da se spoji palac s kažiprstom, on će primiti poruku koja znači da je posluga izvrsna. Međutim, ukoliko se taj isti simbol pokaže u Brazilu, konobar će primiti uvredljivu, vulgarnu poruku. Svrha diplomskog rada je istražiti neverbalnu komunikaciju te na konkretnim primjerima prikazati kako ona funkcionira u stvarnim situacijama s posebnim osvrtom na kulturološke razlike. Less
Abstract (english)
Culture is a powerful force which is developing through history and determines how we see the world. Its different in every country, and exactly those differences are a foundation of conflicts in between intercultural contacts. Intercultural communication is dating since tribe communities, and with sharing information with different tribes they achieved intercultural contact. Development of cultural intelligence and intercultural competence will ease communication in-between two people... More who are belonging to different tribes. Although many people see foundations of communication as a verbal form, more than 50% is transferred in a non verbal way. From one standpoint, expression contains verbal symbols, or substitutions that carry same information, while from another standpoint, impression contains many actions which can be considered symptomatic for communicator considering that particular action is performed with another reason. Body language represents biggest part of nonverbal communication, and thats the reason why those two terms are usually looked upon as synonyms. Except body language it contains : facial expressions, looking in the eye and cold look, touch, paralanguage, space and distance, time and silence. If verbal and non verbal properties are contradictory, people usually believe in body language than in what subject is speaking. Communication is strongly connected with culture and accordingly same symbol will mean different in other cultures. Example, if in Croatia you show a symbol "O" to the waiter, by connecting your thumb and index finger, he'll know that his service was excellent. Although, if you show the same symbol to the waiter in Brazil, he will be insulted with a vulgar act you did. Purpose of graduate thesis is to explain nonverbal communication, and to show with exact examples how nonverbal communication functions in real situations, while reviewing it on a cultural level.
