Abstract
Informacija predstavlja skup činjenica koje su koncipirane tako da pruže određenu obavijest za korisnika informacije. U nešto ranijoj povijesti postojali su različiti pogledi na podrijetlo pojma informacije. Pojam informacije što se tiče podrijetla dolazi iz latinskoga jezika i glasi information ili informo. Na suvremeno tumačenje informacija djelovala je komunikacijska tehnologija. Informacija je ta koja čini temelj poslovnih informacijskih sustava. Informacija nastaje kao rezultat obrade nad podacima i na osnovi načina na koji se priprema ona se dalje upotrebljava u poslovanju u punom smislu te riječi što onda znači da utječe i na donošenje odluka o daljnjem poslovanju. Da bi se stvorila odgovarajuća informacijska podloga za donošenje kvalitetnih odluka u poslovanju potrebno je najprije prikupiti podatke, nakon toga slijedi postupak njihove obrade a u konačnici pretvaranje podataka u informacije i primjena informacija od strane korisnika. Prilikom prikupljanja podataka potrebno je koristiti sve izvore koji stoje na raspolaganju.
Abstract (english)
Information is a collection of facts which are designed to provide the specific information for end user. In early history there were different theories on the origin of the term information. The term „information“ comes from Latin (information or informo). A modern interpretation of information was affected by communications technology. The information is the basis of business information systems. The information is generated as a result of the data processing and based on the way it's prepared it is later used in operating activities, which means it affects the decision-making in the future. In order to create an adequate information basis for making quality business decisions, first and foremost it is necessary to collect data, then to process data, then finally to convert data into information, after that it can be used by end-user. When collecting data it is necessary to use all available resources.
