Business transfer represents the transfer of ownership of a company to another person or another company, which ensures the continuity of the company's existence and business activities. The business transfer is a poorly actualized problem, there are not enough examples of good practice and it is often underestimated, which calls into question the future of the company and its employees. Planning an exit strategy is as important as planning the start-up of a business venture, and there are different models such as transfer to family members, sale of the business, hiring a professional manager or liquidation. Each model brings with it some technical challenges. However, entrepreneurs mostly face psychological obstacles such as the emotional impossibility of separating from the company, choosing a new successor or fear of mortality. For the development of sustainable entrepreneurship, it is important to ensure certain assumptions: legal, financial, educational, scientific, advisory, service and others. These assumptions help maintain an effective entrepreneurial ecosystem, which with its components forms an environment that stimulates entrepreneurs to perform economic activity. The ecosystem for business transfer in the Republic of Croatia is not particularly stimulating despite the existence of numerous entrepreneurial support institutions. Support services are offered by various companies and support institutions, but the quality of their services is questionable. Also, there is a disparity between the number of entrepreneurial support institutions and counties and the number of registered companies. The aim of this work is to analyze advisory services for entrepreneurs in the process of business transfer and supporting institutions and companies that offer the aforementioned services, which was investigated in the practical part of the work.
