Abstract
Financijske izvedenice predstavljaju financijske instrumente čija je cijena izvedena iz neke temeljne, vezane imovine. Pri tome temeljna imovina mogu biti dionice, obveznice, valute, tržišni indeksi kao i različite vrste robe. Izvedenice su u novije vrijeme sve popularniji financijski instrumenti, koji su veliku ulogu odigrali u globalnoj financijskoj krizi 2008. godine. Istodobno se mogu koristiti za dvije suprotne svrhe: špekulaciju i ograđivanje od rizika. U radu su opisane i objašnjene sljedeće vrste izvedenica: opcije, budućnosnice, zamjene i unaprijedni ugovori. Na tržištima izvedenica razlikuju se sljedeće grupe sudionika: živičari, špekulanti, arbitražeri, brokeri i dileri. U ovom diplomskom radu analizira se Chicago Mercantile Exchange, jedna od najstarijih, najpoznatijih i najvećih burzi financijskih izvedenica. U radu je opisano kojim se izvedenicama trguje na navedenoj burzi, te je prikazana statistika trgovanja financijskim derivatima u razdoblju od 2016. do 2020. godine.
Abstract (english)
Financial derivatives are financial instruments whose price is derived from some underlying assets. The underlying assets can be stocks, bonds, currencies, market indices and various types of goods. Derivatives are increasingly popular financial instruments in recent times, which played a major role in the 2008 global financial crisis. They can be used for two opposite purposes at the same time: speculation and hedging. The paper describes and explains the following types of derivatives: options, futures, swaps and forward contracts. In derivative markets, the following groups of participants are distinguished: hedgers, speculators, arbitrageurs, brokers and dealers. This dissertation analyzes the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, one of the oldest, most famous and largest financial derivatives exchanges. The paper describes which derivatives are traded on the said stock exchange, and presents statistics on trading in financial derivatives in the period from 2016 to 2020.
