Energija
... More predstavlja temelj civilizacije i njezina uporaba datira od samih početaka čovječanstva. Less
Abstract (english) The paper deals with the topic of energy as the focus of one of the most important policies of the European Union, the importance of which has recently been noticed. The European Union, as an organization consisting of 27 member states, strives through its policies to ensure a sustainable and stable economy as well as to ensure the freedom of movement of people, goods and services and to protect human rights. One of the many policies of the European Union is the Energy Policy, which is
... More not independent but is implemented within the framework of other policies. Energy is the foundation of civilization and its use dates to the very beginnings of humanity. Currently, there are three basic types of energy sources that are used, namely fossil fuels, energy from renewable sources and nuclear energy. The goal of the European Union is to reduce dependence on fossil fuels as much as possible, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and switch to cleaner and more sustainable energy sources in order to achieve energy security, environmental protection and sustainable development. The main goals of the European Union can be achieved by a mutual decision among all members to suppress the use of fossil fuels and switch to renewable and more sustainable energy sources. The biggest contribution to this goal would be made by the countries with the highest consumption, namely Germany, France, Italy and Spain.
By increasing the number of countries that have reduced the share of fossil fuels in the total energy consumption, they will contribute to the achievement of the goals of the European Green Plan and completely eliminate the emission of greenhouse gases on the territory of Europe, making it the first climate-neutral continent. The main goal of the paper is to see into and explain the origin and development of the European Union as well as one of its most important policies, the energy policy. The purpose of the paper is to see into the largest producers and consumers of energy in the European Union and to determine their dependence on energy imports. The purpose of the paper is also to investigate the future plans of the European Union aimed at achieving a climate-neutral continent, as well as to investigate the successes achieved so far in the development of renewable energy sources and plans for their further development. Numerous scientific methods were used in the work, such as the deductive method, the method of description and the statistical method. When writing the paper, professional literature downloaded from the Internet as well as books borrowed from university libraries were used. Less
