Abstract
Tema rada su suvremeni izazovi monetarne politike, odnosno uloga monetarne politike u ekonomskom rastu. U radu su objašnjeni pojmovi povezani s monetarnom politikom kao i ekonomskim rastom te su analizirani radovi koji povezuju ta dva pojma. Središnje banke su nositelji monetarne politike, a svojim djelovanjem putem različitih instrumenata ostvaruje zadaće i ciljeve te utječu na ponudu novca i cijene u nekoj privredi. Primarni je cilj monetarne politike održavanje stabilnosti cijena, a što je izuzetno važan uvjet ostvarenja ekonomskog rasta. Stabilnost cijena ostvaruje se djelovanjem monetarne politike na način da ista utječe na visinu kamata na štednju i cijenu pozajmljenog novca. Ekonomski rast je temeljni dugoročni ekonomski i politički cilj svake zemlje. Brojni su ekonomisti kroz povijest istraživali što utječe na njega te su zapravo pokušavali riješiti problem nedostatnog rasta koji je bio prisutan u njihovom dobu. U ovom su radu također ukratko predstavljene temeljne ekonomske teorije koje objašnjavaju čimbenike ekonomskog rasta.
Abstract (english)
The topic of the paper is the contemporary challenges of monetary policy, that is, the role of monetary policy in economic growth. The paper explains the concepts related to monetary policy as well as economic growth and analyzes the papers that connect these two concepts. Central banks are the bearers of monetary policy, and through their actions, through various instruments, they achieve tasks and goals and influence the supply of money and prices in an economy. The primary goal of monetary policy is to maintain price stability, which is an extremely important condition for achieving economic growth. Price stability is achieved through the action of monetary policy in such a way that it affects the amount of interest on savings and the price of borrowed money. Economic growth is the fundamental long-term economic and political goal of every country. Throughout history, numerous economists have investigated what affects it and actually tried to solve the problem of insufficient growth that was present in their era. This paper also briefly presents the basic economic theories that explain the factors of economic growth.
