Agriculture, as an important sector of the economy, has emerged over the last few years as one of the most important strategic interests of each country, including the Republic of Croatia. The unprecedented potential of Croatian agriculture, based primarily on agro-climatic conditions, soil quality and diversity of agricultural cultures and varieties, has for centuries resulted in top quality products. Many years of tradition, originality and authenticity of the product are still some of the characteristics of Croatian agriculture. Its main task is to feed the domicile population through production that will meet all their demands and needs. Since agriculture has encountered problems over the years, mostly in financial resources, it is of utmost importance to ensure its further development. Investment in agriculture will enable maintenance of the existing level of production and survival of agriculture as the economic branch of the Republic of Croatia. Farming is financed through state aid and through the EU Rural Development Funds. The European Union has developed 20 measures to be implemented by the end of 2020, and the primary objective of the measures is to encourage rural areas. This applies in particular to the areas where the young population prevails, to ensure their active employment and to prevent their migration from the Republic of Croatia. These measures relate to the active transfer of knowledge and information activities, investment in physical assets, development of agricultural holdings, ecological cultivation, payments to areas with natural constraints, risk management and so on. In order to reduce the problems in this economic activity, it is necessary to invest tangible resources for the development of agricultural production. It is also necessary to develop and to increase the professional skills of the manufacturers.
