Abstract
U današnje doba osnovica svake ekonomije je novac, bio on gotovinski ili u bilo kojem drugom obliku. Svaki djelić naše ekonomije, a time i naših života, ovisi o kamatama, porezima i svemu ostalome što ima veze s novcem. Praktički svugdje u svijetu vlada opće neznanje o novcu. Trebamo se zapitati što je to točno novac, kako nastaje i o čemu ovisi koliko ćemo imati novca. Davno prije ljudi su osnivali prve banke, zajednice koje su brinule o njihovom novcu. S vremenom, te zajednice su se postepeno otuđivale od vlasnika tog novca i sve više radile u korist samih bankara, da bismo došli do situacije kakvu poznajemo danas. Ljudi su masovno upoznati s bankarskim polu legalnim poslovanjem na koje su sindromom kuhane žabe naviknuti, kondicionirani i programirani kao na nešto najnormalnije što trebaju pasivno prihvaćati. Srećom, u zadnje vrijeme nastaje fenomen etičnih banaka, institucija koje se vraćaju izvornom načinu rada bankarstva, djelovanju u korist zajednice, bez obogaćivanja nekolicine na uštrb ostalih. U radu će biti obrađena tema razvoja etičnih banaka, mogu li one značajnije sudjelovati u gospodarstvu te mogu li zamijeniti i istisnuti s tržišta klasične banke.
Abstract (english)
In today's world, the basis of every economy is money, either cash or in any other form. Every fraction of our economy, and thus our lives, depends on interest, taxes and everything else that has to do with money. Practically everywhere in the world there is a general ignorance of money. We need to ask ourselves what exactly is money, how and where does it come from and what determines how much money we will have. Long ago people founded the first banks, communities that took care of their money. Over time, these communities gradually abandoned the owners of that money and worked more and more to the benefit of the bankers themselves, to come to the situation we know today. People are massively familiar with banking semi-legal activities and they are used to it, conditioned and programmed because of the boiling frog syndrome as something totally normal they should passively accept. Fortunately, the phenomenon of ethical banks, institutions that are returning to the original concept of banking, to the benefit of the community, has arisen lately, without enriching some at the expense of others. This graduate paper will deal with the issue of ethical banks, whether they can be more involved in the economy, and can they replace and squeeze out classical banks out of the market.
