This final paper addresses the issue of starting a business venture by obtaining a laundry service franchise. Keywords used in the paper are business idea and opportunity, business plan and franchise. The difference between an idea and the business opportunity has been clarified. Factors of the entrepreneurial process have been identified as well as resources necessary for realization of the business idea. It was explored how to examine the feasibility and sustainability of the business venture as well as availability of different financing options. Business plan was described as a tool that gives guidelines for achievement of set goals for the venture. The analysis of the feasibility and profitability of the service laundry facility has been set as a research problem of this paper. When starting a business venture, it is necessary to have a well elaborated business strategy where entrepreneurs, among other, address the issue of low popularity of their products or services. When entering a franchise relationship, entrepreneur can go around and overcome all these problems and obstacles at the very beginning of doing business because franchisor offers his established brand and business model. The idea of service laundry facility is planned to be realized through franchise obtainment so franchise as a concept was defined regarding different types of franchises, parties in a franchise relationship as well as positive and negative aspects for both, franchisor, and franchisee. Buying a franchise laundry business was weighed against starting an own business from scratch. This comparison was made considering that person weighing these two options does not have any foreknowledge in laundry industry. The franchise buying process was shown based on a business proposal obtained from one world known franchise laundry brand. Potential risks were taken into consideration during profitability analysis. These are highly interrelated with social customs and habits who affect the development of service franchises. Research conducted in this final paper can be useful to someone who is thinking of having a franchise as a way of starting a business venture.
