This thesis explores the theories of employee motivation and benefits as the main instrument for rewarding employees of this type, role and importance of benefits. The importance of motivation as an element of human resources management and their satisfaction, which ultimately results in the success of the company, is presented. Motivation theories are also presented as they are divided into two groups: content and process theories of motivation. In the theoretical part, which introduces us to the topic, the explanation is the theory of motivation and what is motivation in general and how to achieve it in employees because the performance of an employee depends not only on his ability to work but also on his motivation to do work. If an employee is not sufficiently motivated to perform daily tasks, his or her productivity decreases, and thus his or her efficiency. Therefore, in order to motivate employees and encourage an increase in their productivity and efficiency, and in order to maintain their already existing motivation, it is necessary to reward them continuously with certain benefits that are an integral part of employee benefits. Such benefits, which are an integral part of the employee's income, are additionally, partially or fully paid by the employer to its employees. It is especially important that the management of each company is familiar with how to motivate its employees and how to influence their satisfaction with the work they do. Although there is no generally known definition of motivation, it is clear that motivation is of great importance for the performance of work tasks and their success. Benefits can include a whole range of benefits for employees and are of great importance for the employer-employee relationship. Benefit schemes vary greatly from employer to employer and, in addition to those specified by law, depend on the will and decision of the employer himself.
