obrazovanje, kognitivna inteligencija, iskustvo i znanje.
faktor uspjeha u životu i on definira emocionalnu inteligenciju kao sposobnost prepoznavanja,
kontrole i razumijevanja vlastitih i tuđih emocija.
Goleman (2020) definira pet dimenzija
anketiranjem 42 studenta, a dobiveni rezultati pokazuju kako studenti poznaju teoriju
emocionalne inteligencije, ali nisu dovoljno osviješteni o važnosti emocionalne inteligencije
za javno govorenje. |
Abstract (english) | In today’s society, it is often thought that the only factors which lead to success in life are
higher education, cognitive intelligence, experience and knowledge. Goleman (2020) proved
this is not the case with his research. Goleman showed emotional intelligence is also a key
factor in success in life. He defines emotional intelligence as the ability to recognize, control,
and understand one’s own and other people’s emotions. The skill of public speaking with
emotional intelligence is increasingly in demand in the business world, and the question of
why the education system does not pay attention to it arises. In this paper, the focus will be on
the presentation of the theory of emotional intelligence and public speech, and how to create a
successful public speech in which the emotional intelligence of the speaker is a key role.
Goleman (2020) defines five dimensions of emotional intelligence, namely: self-awareness,
self-guidance, self-motivation, empathy, and social skills. According to Morgan (2017), these
dimensions must be possessed by every successful speaker. Successful speakers must be able
to recognize their feelings before and during public speaking, must be able to control their
feelings, must be motivated to achieve a given goal, have developed empathy to understand
the needs of the audience, and, ultimately, must have developed social skills to achieve a
relationship with their audience. This paper aims to examine the knowledge of final-year
students about emotional intelligence and the attitude of students about the importance of
emotional intelligence for public speaking. The research was conducted by surveying 42
students, and the results show that students know about the theory of emotional intelligence,
but are not sufficiently aware of the importance of emotional intelligence for public speaking. |
