Historical facts are very important to understand the elements of today's world, so also in the field of entrepreneurship. The aim of this thesis is based on the importance of historical facts in the development of entrepreneurship today. The goal is to explore moments from history that are essential to understanding entrepreneurship today. Entrepreneurship has been around in today's society for a thousand years, and throughout history the word has been used countless times in different contexts. The earliest mention of entrepreneurship dates back to ancient times. After its beginnings in the form of today's franchise relationship, entrepreneurship has evolved through a variety of roles. The historical period from the 13th to the 15th century is characterized by church-related activities, and most theories and definitions during this period are based on facts related to the influence of the church on the development of entrepreneurship. From the 16th to 18th century, agricultural practice and its development plays the most important role in the development of entrepreneurship, while the period from the 19th to the 20th century is characterized by the industrial revolution. Today, the modern concept of entrepreneurship no longer exclusively encompasses the initiation of an entrepreneurial venture, but increasingly discusses the development of an entrepreneurial mindset such as proactivity and entrepreneurial behavior in all individuals.
