Abstract
Kultura omogućava ljudima u zajednici da se prilagode svom okruženju. Ona uključuje znanje potrebno ljudima za učinkovito funkcioniranje u vlastitom društvenom okruženju. Edward Hall, poznati antropolog, naglašava kako je kultura komunikacija i kako je komunikacija kultura te je teško ta dva pojma razdvojiti i promatrati ih kao odvojene cjeline. Komunikacija je posebno izazovna kada je riječ o komunikaciji između pripadnika različitih kultura jer se često iste riječi i simboli mogu... More različito tumačiti. Uz verbalnu komunikaciju jednako je važna i neverbalna komunikacija koja nadopunjuje izrečeno. Neverbalna komunikacija se može podijeliti u dvije skupine – jedna se „stvara“ tijelom te se sastoji od izraza lica, pogleda, kretnji, dodira, mirisa i parajezika, a drugu stvara okruženje u kojem se pojedinac nalazi te ju čine vrijeme, prostor i tišina. Svrha ovog rada je istražiti utjecaj kulture na komunikaciju, te primjerima predstaviti odraz različitosti kultura u neverbalnoj komunikaciji i izazove koje to donosi u interkulturalnoj poslovnoj komunikaciji. Abstract (english)
Culture enables people in a community to adapt to their environment. It includes the knowledge people need to function effectively in their own social environment. Edward Hall, a famous anthropologist, emphasizes that culture is communication and that communication is culture. Thus it is difficult to separate these two terms and view them as separate entities. Communication is especially challenging when it comes to communication between members of different cultures because often... More the same words and symbols can be interpreted differently. In addition to verbal communication, non-verbal communication that complements what is said is equally important. Non-verbal communication can be divided into two groups - one is "created" by the body and consists of facial expressions, looks, movements, touch, smell and paralanguage, and the other is created by the environment in which the individual is located and consists of time, space and silence. The purpose of this graduate paper is to investigate the influence of culture on communication, and to present examples that offer the reflection of the diversity of cultures in non-verbal communication as well as to discuss some challenges it may cause for the intercultural business communication.
