Risks often imply potential damage or danger arising from unforeseen events. The unpredictability and uncertainty of the future pose challenges for organizations, which is why it is crucial to create strategies to properly manage supply chain risks. Accordingly, the focus of this thesis is on risks in the supply chain, and the aim is to explain the characteristics and specifics of the supply chain and to detail the risk management in the same. Ignoring risks, if they are not negligible, increases the vulnerability of the organization, which is why it is important to respond properly to emerging risk situations as the occurrence of one such situation can cause the development of another. The basis for the graduation paper are secondary data sources, ie books and scientific articles, followed by relevant online literature. The collected data were processed by several research methods. The deductive and descriptive methods extend throughout the paper to describe the relevant data, while the method of synthesis and analysis explains and analyzes them. The compilation method was used to unify the collected data into a meaningful whole. Supply chain refers to a network of organizations that are interconnected by different links, acting through different activities with the aim of increasing the value of products, services or the entire supply chain. Risks appear in various forms, and for the efficiency of an individual organization, its effective management is crucial. Although organizations often face a number of risk situations, they can be a initiator of positive change for the organization.
