Abstract
Izravne strane investicije (FDI) jedna su od najznačajnijih ekonomskih posljedica globalizacije, stoga ne čudi činjenica kako države svijeta raznim politikama nastoje privući strane investitore kako bi ulagali u njihove države i tako pomogli u izgradnji i osnaživanju gospodarstva i države. Razvijene zemlje odmah su prepoznale koristi od FDI-a te ih smatraju važnim kanalom za aktiviranje vlastitih investicijskih potencijala neophodnih za razvitak gospodarstva. More donosi mnogo koristi, poput povećanja produktivnosti, zaposlenosti i plaća, transfer tehnologije, obuku i specijalizaciju domicilnog rukovodstva i brojne druge. Uz primjenu transparentnih i efikasnih mjera regulacije, kao i jasno definiranom strategijom razvoja zemlje, potencijalne negativne učinke FDI-a moguće je korigirati, a strane investicije iskoristiti za gospodarski napredak. Republika Hrvatska oduvijek je bila sklona inozemnim investitorima te je slovila kao idealna destinacija za investiranje, te je čak prema prosjeku Europske unije bila među boljim zemljama. Međutim, statistika nije uvijek pravo mjerilo pokazivanja, što je i prikazano analizom u ovome radu. U radu se analiziralo kretanje izravnih inozemnih investicija od samih početaka 1993. godine pa sve do prvog kvartala 2017. godine, te je jasno pokazano kako su postojali, te još uvijek postoje, određeni problemi koji se moraju riješiti kako bi Republika Hrvatska uspjela do kraja 2020. godine ispuniti cilj te biti među prvih 30 zemalja, top destinacija za investiranje Less

Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) are one of the most significant economic products of globalization, so it is not surprising that many countries are trying their best to convince investors to invest in their countries and thus help build and strengthen the economy. Developed countries have immediately recognized the benefits of FDI and consider them an important channel for activating their own investment potential essential for the development of the economy. FDI brings a lot of benefits... More to the receiving country such as increase in productivity, employment and wage, technology transfer, training and specialization of domicile management and many others. With the use of transparent and efficient regulatory measures as well as a clearly defined country development strategy, the potential negative effects of FDI can be corrected and foreign investments leveraged for economic progress. The Republic of Croatia has always been a pretext for foreign investors and it has been the ideal investment destination, which was supported by the European Union statistics which said that Republic of Croatia has been among the better countries. However, statistics are not always the right measure of the real state, which was shown in the analysis in this paper. The paper analyzes the trends of foreign direct investment from the beginning of 1993 until the first quarter of 2017 and it has clearly shown that there are certain problems, which still exist, that need to be resolved in order for the Republic of Croatia to fulfill the goal by the end of 2020. and become one of the top 30 destinations for investments.
