Business negotiation is an extremely important business skill, valued by employees who can thus improve the firm's business. Various factors can affect the course of business negotiation, competencies and negotiator qualities are one of the most important. However, knowledge of negotiating matter is considered to be of paramount importance. Negotiations are divided into stages, and in the opinion of many authors, preparation and planning are most important. Negotiations can be tough or soft, depending on factors such as friendly relations, management preferences and the possibility of compromise. These factors will also determine the negotiation tactics. This is where ethical / unethical negotiation comes to the fore. Will the negotiator lie, threaten, cheat and manipulate to get what he wants, or will he be honest, correct and on the basis of honesty try to get a long-term partner? It all depends on the power of the firm, the character of the negotiator and the orders of the management. Negotiators can be extroverts, introverts, dominators, manipulators, etc. Ultimately the most important thing is to achieve results without crossing legal boundaries. Scientific research at the end of the paper shows that various negotiators are willing to resort to certain unethical tactics (nothing too drastic or illegal) to get what they want. But a little twist of truth and stalling is what all of them are ready to do in negotiations. Of course, it is in the interest to maintain long-term relationships, but when negotiations are seen to go in the direction that will hurt the company, certain unethical tactics are available and punished poorly.
