In this final paper, the topic of emotional intelligence in business is addressed. The aim is to show the connection between emotional intelligence and business, i.e. to show that emotional intelligence has an impact on the work performance of managers as well as employees themselves. In the final paper we cover the topic of emotions, which are described in more detail, i.e. the concept of emotions is defined, the most common human emotions are listed and divided into groups. Then we turn to empathy providing its definition and listing the empathy skills that are essential for business. Emotions and empahty are defined because of their relevance for the definition of emotional intelligence. Emotional intelligence is a person's ability to understand and recognize their own and the feelings of others. In addition to the definition of emotional intelligence, we provide a list of tests with which emotional intelligence can be measured. Emotional intelligence is very important for business for the reason that discovering and understanding the feelings of employees can improve their work performance. There are arguments for and against the use of emotional intelligence in business. There are 11 ways to apply the knowledge about emotional intelligence in business. The last part of this paper deals with managers and emotional intelligence. It defines the term manager and lists its functions and roles in the company. In addition, it shows what distinguishes a successful manager from an unsuccessful one, and shows the connection between emotional intelligence and the manager.
