The final paper "Managerial skills in modern business" focuses on a theoretical background that covers the area of managerial skills that can be grouped into five primary categories: leadership, planning, strategy, communication, and organization. The first chapter talks about management and it explains the role of the management and leadership. Management, in short, can be defined as the process of managing and controlling business activities, regardless of the nature of the activities, the type of activities in question, the structure or size; and the manager is the person responsible for a part of the company. The second part of the final paper deals with managerial skills: basic and special. Basic managerial skills deal with conceptual, technical skills and ways of working with people. Special managerial skills are planning, organizing, managing human resource, and leadership. The last part of the final paper is an analysis of managerial skills in modern businesses according to the opinion of their employees. It aims to investigate how satisfied ordinary employees are with managerial skills in modern business of their superior managers. The analysis was conducted through a survey in which 44 respondents employed in the private or public sector participated. Respondents in the survey rated the skills of their managers as well as the degree of satisfaction with their management. The aim of the final paper is to show what are the important managerial skills for modern business, and the extent to which managers possess certain skills.
