Employee selection is a complex process of selecting the best candidates who have the necessary knowledge and skills to contribute to the organization. Employee selection is a process that comes after planning and attracting employees. Employee selection is one of the most crucial tasks of management because it is very important to choose a quality employee. Nowadays, the competition on the labor market is very high and an ever-increasing number of capable, high-quality, and highly educated people are entering the labor market. To reach the selection, the task of planning must be done first. Planning is the first task in hiring a new employee, it is a complex process that deals with the distribution of workload within the organization itself. It is the first phase of the new employee recruitment process that answers the questions: how many new employees to hire, how the employee will adapt to the new work environment, how the current employees will react to the new one and what is the perfect employee profile that the organization needs. Next phase after planning is the attraction of employees. In addition to attracting workers, the concept of retaining workers in the organization is also connected. Only after that comes the final stage of employee selection, i.e., the recruitment process and then the employee selection process. The aim of this paper is to list and explain the various employee selection methods that exist, as well as the problems that come with employee selection.
