In modern society, family businesses represent a significant segment of the economy and play a key role in maintaining economic stability. Spouses are often jointly involved in the establishment and development of an entrepreneurial venture. Both spouses being involved in a business has many benefits, including better management of resources, diversity of skills, abilities and experiences, and a better ability to face with business challenges. The involvement of spouses also brings certain challenges, such as conflicts in the sphere of balancing business and private interests, managing emotional dynamics within the family, and challenges in the processes of inheritance and transition. Spouses often provide physical and emotional support, even if they do not have a formal role in the company. Emotional support is especially important to alleviate stress and concerns during difficult times. A successful relationship between couples in business requires clear communication, clear schedules of work and responsibilities, respect for roles, teamwork and the ability to resolve conflicts. It is essential to establish a balance between private and business life in order to preserve the quality of both segments. The final paper consists of two parts: a review of the literature on the topic of family entrepreneurship with an emphasis on the role of spouses in the management of a family business, and an analysis of the role of spouses in two family businesses, which was investigated based on information collected through the analysis of secondary sources and primary research.
