Green public procurement is defined as a procedure which results in buying green products and services. Apart from encouraging purchases of acceptable products and services it is considered as a originator of economic growth. Each aggregate of products has the measurements defined for key pressures on environment. With green public procurement we are contributing to cleaner, healthier environment as well as we are enhancing the quality of life. Recognition and support to the program leads to common green market on which we are trying to achieve synergistic effect. Croatia establishes clear legal frame as to where the public authority is going with the adoption of the National Procurement Directives for GPP. The main focus is on the introduction of the basic green measurements for preferred aggregate of products and services. In addition to the guidelines on energy efficiency in public procurement, the plan also includes all the measurements related to promotion and briefing regarding the public procurement. The purpose of the Plan is to include green public procurement in public procurement by 2020 with percentage of 50. In order to turn theory into practice a manual for the GPP has been drafted and translated into several languages of European Union. The aim of this final work was to present GPP as a term, to present the manual in a simplified form and to define where is Croatia currently and what are the future alternatives.
