Effective and efficient management is considered a key process of successful organizations, and the leaders of organizations have the greatest responsibility for results and are responsible for achieving goals. The aim of the paper is to systematically compare the conceptual definition of management and leadership and to carry out a critical analysis of micro management as a leadership style. Micro-management is becoming a more frequent leadership style driven by the manager's desire or need for detailed control and ensuring the execution of operational goals. The paper lists the advantages and disadvantages of micro management and their comparison, an analysis of how micro management affects the employee's behavior is carried out. The key reason why managers use this style is most often distrust in the employees who surround them. Micro management has an impact on the employee as an individual, on his behavior and on the way he approaches work, and then on the entire organization. There are suggestions that managers could be encouraged to reduce micro management in the organization. The work is based on primary and secondary data sources. Primary data are the basis for the empirical part, while secondary data were used to determine the concept of micro management. A qualitative approach was used to assess the transcripts of the interviews conducted by the author. The methods that appear in the paper are: the method of analysis and synthesis, the method of description. By conducting empirical research, it was found out that micro management is present in every organization, but in certain segments. Managers try to reduce his presence and have certain limits. It is important to them how the employee feels and how much he contributes to the organization.
