This work has shown the great importance of managing stress in an organization, which has resulted from the extremely negative effects that stress can have on individuals as well as on the organization itself. Stressful stimuli over a long period causes physiological, psychological and behavioral changes in humans. Employee stress for an organization means that they will not be anywhere near their maximum work efficiency. Due to the negative effects and consequences, but also the complexity of stressful stimuli and sources of stress in the workplace, organizations need to implement stress management. It is a multi-stage process. First, it is necessary to understand how stress affects employees, that is, people in the organization. The next phase involves identifying and measuring stress. The final step in stress management involves helping employees control and manage it. The individual himself can deal with stress, which entails different activities he undertakes to manage stress, ie to reduce it, adapt to it, etc. There are two basic strategies for coping with stress. One focuses on the problem and the other on emotions. Given that both the organization and the individual have the ability to manage stress, so the importance of a common approach to stress management is emphasized. The importance of stress management is supported not only by different research and findings, but also by the legal framework at national as well as European level.
