In this paper it is demonstrated the relevance of leasing as the form of financing and subsequently virtues and flaws that need to be taken into consideration adequately during decision making. Additionally, it is thoroughly explained the market state of leasing in the Republic of Croatia. When financing a leasing, leasing´s user chooses the equipment that is requested by manufacturer and then establishes the price. Leasing´s user then refers to property leasing that bought the equipment and then is renting it to the user as the user pays the rent in return. The essence of the leasing is basically separating ownership and resource usage, taking into consideration that the primary goal is resource usage and profits which are accomplished by their usage. In this paper the market of leasing is being analyzed for Republic of Croatia in the timeframe between 2015 and 2019 and the basis for that is the data available on the Croatian agency´s for the supervision of the financial services web site for the mentioned years. Empirical part displays how much leasing firms had done business in the Republic of Croatia in the specific span, the primary causes why the number of leasing firms has shrunk, and the analysis of the leasing market had been carried out in the same span. With the conducted analysis it is corroborated that the most common objects for the financial and operational leasing are personal and utility vehicles. Furthermore, it was confirmed the vast majority of the closed deals were made by incorporations and therefore the instant value of the new deals was highest for that very sector. In addition, most of the new deals, according to the branch of the recipient, had been made with branches that are referring to retail and bulk purchase, transportation and storing, accommodation, preparation, and food service.
