Disruptive business models have always been drivers of changes. However, like all great changes, they bring with them many benefits, but also some consequences. The innovations that disruptors bring to the market change the existing position of business entities in the industry and their actions affect the entire industries, all competitors, and even the social environment. The historical industrial and economic development of the world has been accompanied by rapid technological development and considerable efforts have been made in research and development to achieve competitive advantage for rival companies. Initiators of these changes and industrial leaps are disruptors. Disruptive business models and disruptive innovation have played a key role in fostering change in the developmental evolution of business and the social environment. Their way of working is incomparable with any other existing and familiar ways of doing business and that is why studying their philosophy and their business models is important for understanding their importance and advantages that they bring to the market, which is achieved by changing complete business paradigm of the industry, in which they operate. Their work and importance encouraged the entire business industry to adapt to new changes and innovations, and eliminates those who did not want, or could not, adapt to new business laws. The aim of the thesis is, following the main disruptors and their historical development, to describe and explain the disruptive changes and disruptive business models that have changed the world in which we live, while analyzing their impact on the environment and society.
